Breed suitability and sizing
Suitable for all dog breeds, you can purchase this stylish dog coat in two body types (Standard and Long & Lean) and seventeen sizes. Standard sizes are designed for dogs with typical proportions with a back length similar to the height of the withers. A high proportion of dogs fall into standard sizing. Long and lean sizes are designed around the unique shape of deep-chested breeds such as Whippets (L&L sizes 19, 21 or 23) and larger Sighthounds (L&L sizes 24, 26, 29 or 31).

The Royal Blue Alpine Blazer is an all-season dog coat. Its tailored and sporty design offers comfort, warmth and freedom of movement. Royal Blue is a calm, relaxing colour that never goes out of fashion.
The Alpine Blazer is our second warmest dog coat and is an ideal choice for hounds who need warmth and rain protection during cold rainy days. The high-coverage belly panel protects against mud and slush, while the buckle closure system keeps the coat in situ during active play.
All in all, this particular coat is an excellent choice for both short and medium-coated breeds. Use the coat with a Head Muff for additional head, neck and ear protection.
You can use the Alpine Blazer with your favourite harness and collar. This coat does not have a slit in the fabric for a D-Ring connection. Instead, place your dog’s harness over the top of the coat or attach your lead to a collar in the usual way.

Alpine Blazer sizing
The Royal Blue Alpine Blazer is available in seventeen sizes and two body types. Standard sizes are designed for dogs with typical proportions and a back length similar to their height at the withers. A high percentage of dogs fall into this category.
In comparison, the unique body shape of sighthounds inspires our Long & Lean sizing. These coats are ideal for dogs with narrow shoulders, a deep chest and a long body.
Generally, a Long & Lean 19, 21 and 23 will fit a Whippet and a Long & Lean 24, 26, 29 and 31 fits larger Sighthounds. This guide is by no means definitive, and we recommend you measure your dog carefully before placing your order.
Caring for your Alpine Blazer
Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Wash with similar colours or on their own. Fasten the buckle/velcro before placing the product in the washing machine. Important: DO NOT use hot water, strong detergents, bleach or fabric softener. A fabric softener will prevent the fleece from retaining heat within the fleece fibres. Although Chilly Dogs do suggest using a dryer, we think it’s best, where possible, to air dry to benefit the environment.
If you need a dryer for a quick coat turn around, fastener buckles and Velcro. Select a cool setting for 10 minutes, then hang using the hanging loop or lay flat to dry. For Sweaters and Soakers, please lay them out after the dryer cycle. Set the dryer on the cool setting for 10 minutes, then lay flat to dry (DO NOT HANG). Please do not use any heat as it will damage the coat.

These are incredible coats I would thoroughly recommend. A really great coat for autumn and spring weather being warm but light. Really great fit allowing my sighthounds to be athletic and have fun. Great reflective piping for visibility . Coats are very durable – the oldest one is 5 years old and has many more years of wear in it. Just ordered another one for my new dog and the customer service was great, offering to send a couple of sizes so I could get the best fit.
