Heathcliff Tweed Martingale Collar

The Heathcliff Tweed Martingale Collar needs no introduction. The moody depth to this tweed fully lends itself to its namesake Heathcliff; the romantic hero whose all consuming passions destroy both him and those around him. Let’s not get too carried away with this romantic notion but can you imagine (with your hound in tow) running up that hill with thunder in your heart searching for the answer!

To add softness and a luxury, I line the collar with Fig Swiss velvet. Last but not least, we finish the collar with your choice of solid brass or silver nickel plated hardware. Opt for solid brass if you prefer a traditional country tweed look. Alternatively, choose nickel plated silver to create a more urban contemporary feel. Whatever you choice, Heathcliff is the ideal collar for walks in the rugged English countryside.

Available with a full or reduced martingale loop

Martingale collars have a unique design which keeps your dog from escaping or backing out of their collar. The reduced loop version has a slightly narrower control loop in comparison to the full loop version. For this design, the full loop is made using Heathcliff Tweed, the reduced loop is made using Fig Swiss velvet.

How a martingale collar works

This martingale collar will sit loosely around your dogs neck. If and when they pull, the martingale loop will tighten exerting a gentle pressure around their neck. This action doesn’t hurt, meaning our martingale collars are a safe and effective way to manage a dog who slips their collar easily. Essentially, martingales are perfect for walking or training dogs, and can be especially helpful when caring for shy or timed hounds (whose first instincts are to buck their collar when nervous).

This collar is available in three widths: 1″, 1.5″ or 2” and in six different sizes: Extra-Small, Small, Small-Medium, Medium, Large and Extra-Large.

Caring for your tweed collar

We recommend hand washing or spot cleaning the soiled area. Also, please do not tumble dry, leave your collar to air dry instead.
